I got an email earlier this week about a litter of homeless pit bull puppies that needed foster homes. Nothing new there—I get emails like that every day, all day long. These puppies, however, looked familiar and I dug around for a little more information. It turned out that they were the littermates of Mouse. And that their temporary foster mom still had the other blue and white baby.
So what the heck. It seemed like the right thing to do. Happy early birthday to me, then.

Oh my god. You are killing me with these pictures! I think I started lactating. Is that weird?

Nah, totally normal…totally. I gotta add one more picture, though – brace yourself!

OMG, I want another puppy!!
But seriously, how do the brindle brothers take it. I fostered for a while and it just didn’t work. Dingo Girl could not adjust to other dogs being in her house. Many of the older dogs had food aggression or territory issues and she got aggressive as well. She also did not like the constant coming and going of the dogs. There were two that she got along with very well. When they left, I had behavior issues with her. I think she missed them.
She’s always liked puppies, though, and is very good with them. I, however, could not adjust to running up and down three flights of stairs every hour for for the potty training.

Oh my, what a bundle of goodness. Happy Birthday to you! And congratulations on the new member of the family.

Dingo, I’m fortunate in that the Brindle Brothers love it when I bring a new one home for a while. They’re VERY excited to show him/her around, but they still have each other once he/she gets adopted, so they don’t pine either. They’re uber-tolerant…and if anyone has food/toy/whatever-else issues, they’re not allowed to mingle unsupervised. I had an incident with a foster presa a few months ago and said “enough”; I’m not going to traumatize the boys or put them at risk for the sake of rescue, you know? But as long as they’re happy with the arrangements, it works out pretty well. (And yes, potty training is much more tolerable when there are not stairs involved!).
Imgonnabreakyourheart, thanks! She’s a bundle of something, that’s for sure! (I say this as she drags a tennis shoe that is as big as she is across the room by one lace…oh boy).

I wish I had the room for 100 dogs, my word they are adorable! I don’t believe you are the one that lives in ATL, but if you are, I have a dear friend that runs a Pit Bull rescue. I would be happy to pass along his info to you if you would want it

Isn’t she though, Tales?
Like, impossibly so.
David, it wouldn’t happen to be Jason would it? That’s the only guy I know of involved in pit rescue around here. But yeah, send it on, I’m always happy to network – inkpuddle (at) puddleofink (dot) com. Thanks!

Aww. Me, I’m good with double trouble plus a foster. I don’t think I could handle triple the fun on a permanent basis!
